General Patreaus is visiting Fort Benning this weekend. Friday he honored the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion. They were African American Paratroopers in WW11. Saturday he will be attending the Airborne graduation of his son Steven. General Patreaus says that he will have the honor of pinning Steven's grandfathers jump wings on his son. Steven is an ROTC student at MIT.
From here the 4 Star General will be testifying before congress concerning future troop strength in Iraq.
Wayne-General Petreaus is a well respected Soldier not only by the Military but also by the people of Iraq. If my memory serves me correctly, he was the Division Commander of the 101st ABN during the beginning of OIF. The 101st operated in Northern Iraq during that time. He became a favorite of the Kurds and they all seemed to know him by name because of how he and his men took care of the Kurds and liberated Kirkuk. Aloha,
