A typical Saturday in the life of a REALTOR

By
Real Estate Agent 0225218019

Was today a typical Saturday in the life of a REALTOR®?

I'd have to say, it is somewhat typical of what I have experienced since beginning my Real Estate career in 1999.

A typical Saturday in the life of a REALTOR®, gives new meaning to the word "multi-tasking".

So this is how my day went:

  • Neighborhood garage sale this morning
  • Ate a salad at home
  • Installed lock boxes on my new listing 19196 Woodmont Plantation
  • Showed a property on the way back to my office. (This couple called me from my name on the sign).  The picture is below:

  • Back to the office to write an offer on a house
  • Email the offer to my client, do some paper work and straighten up my desk a little
  • Shop at the grocery store for dinner and Thanksgiving items
  • Stop by pharmacy
  • Dinner with daughter
  • Paper work until almost bedtime

If your REALTOR® looks tired or run down think back to this description of a typical Saturday in the life of a REALTOR®.

Mine was not.  I attended a first for me - a downtown shopping event, in my PJ's!  Great fun, but then followed by a new client appointment and showing properties.  Call from two other clients, with Sunday as a planned day off. But now, possibly two showings with clients.  Gotta grab the business when it's there, right?

Sounds like an average day. I have a friend who likes to go out in the evenings, say about 7:30ish. She doesn't understand why I'm ready to wind down my day about that time.

A very productive day for sure.  You deserve a day off today.  Enjoy yourself.

That's a very good outline of a typical day.  Most people have no appreciation for how interrupt driven it is.  My wife has been a transaction coordinator for a while and was just asked to fill the agent's shoes for a couple of weeks while he's out of town.  Just taking all his calls and handling walk-throughs has shown her how crazy it can be.

Dawn ~ It was definitely one of my busier days!

Tricia ~ A day off, what does that feel like?

Bryan ~ I had no idea how interrupt driven it was until I became a REALTOR®.  I like that phrase, "interruption driven".
