This is going to sound terrible, but over the years I've grown to HATE the Christmas holiday season. The reasons are too numerous to mention and they're irrelevant because I've decided this year I'm going tp change all that.
I'm putting myself up to another Challenge. I'm hoping it will snap me out of the funk I've been in lately and get me back into the routine of blogging daily. My super star friends Tish Lloyd, Melissa McKinney, BLiz Spear, Margaret Rome and many others have managed to maintain their commitment to blogging DAILY, but I just couldn't keep up the momentum and I really need to get it back!
I recently learned about The Be Thankful Challenge but came a little late to the party. This Challenge is supposed to go through the month of November until Thanksgiving, with a post each day about something or someone to be thankful for.
I LOVE this idea, so I decided to put my own twist on it and take it from Thanksgiving to New Years day. I will post something each day that states something I'm thankful for, but I'm going to try to keep it mostly business related (we'll see how that goes). Hopefully this attitude of gratitude will give me a renewed appreciation for what should be a joyful time of year.
Today is Day 1 of my Be Thankful Challenge and I will start by expressing my gratitude for my sweet friend Joni Staples. I found out about the Be Thankful Challenge because of Joni. Reading her beautiful posts about the people and things she is thankful for has motivated me to take the time do the same. Thank you so much Joni - you are an inspiration to me and to so many others! I'm so glad the last challenge brought us together. You are an angel!
The last 30 Day Blogging Challenge got very interesting when I invited others to join me - I was fortunate to meet sooooo many wonderful people! The whole thing took on a life of its own! Naturally, as I take on this new challenge, I just have to ask ... Would YOU care to join me in my Be Thankful Challenge? No points, no t-shirts, (unless of course Kerrie wants to cook something up) just gratitude BECAUSE....
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
~Melody Beattie, best selling author and journalist
I do hope you'll join me! And if you're already doing it, please tell me about it.
