Red or White Wine ???

Real Estate Agent with KW Elite

My introduction to wine consumption paralleled many wine drinkers. They typically started by drinking white wine and later acquired a taste for red wine. As late as 1980, white wine was the run away top seller in the US., out selling red more than 3 to 1 ! But purchases of red wine began to surge in the 1990's after the media reported through out the decade about the healthful properties of red wine that are believed to be beneficial to ones health. Now red wines sells equally to white wine in both restaurants and retail sales.

Europe has long produced more red than white wine, led by France and Italy. Germany and California produce more white than red wine. It is said that red is the color of passion. Most of the world's most legendary, and collected wines are red. Red wine is a great winter wine, whereas white which is served cooler sells stroner in the summer season.  After starting with white wine for about 12 years, I've been primarily a consumer of red wine for 20+ years now ! How about you ? What is you wine of choice ?

Red for Trudy, although I love good hearty red wines it is better for me to drink whites, nice oaky chardonnay's, fruity sauvignon blancs and nice crisp pinits grigios. Spicy pinot gris from the alsace region are also good. No preference for country of origin, just want good wine and today there are many many options, especially in our region as well.

Like you I started with white, but since my heart attacks I've taken the advice of my cardiologist and drink mostly red. She told me two glasses of red per day was good for me. She also said that if I have more than two then "I'm just drinkin"!"

Red when it's cold, white when it's hot. I don't discriminate : )

Primarily reds.  Love Pinot Noirs and Cabernets.  I will drink a Chardonnay on occasion, usually with seafood.

See It. Experience It. Live It.

When I first started drinking wine, I liked the zinfandel's. Now days, I think a zin is too sweet.   Although I occasionally like a red wine, most likely a nice Merlot, I prefer chardonnay.

p.s.  I figured out what happened with the "mystery post"  It should have been in a AR photo group which was listed above this one on my list.

Thank you for the invitation to the group, Michael! We have come a long way from our Riunite days! Our favorites are Cabernet or Merlot but I do enjoy a good Chardonnay.
