Do you have one of those loved little creatures in your home? But what they are doing to your furniture or belongings is driving you mad! You tried many things, some work to some degree but no real cure?
We have several cats (3- all rescued). We were living in an area where these guys did their job of getting rid of rodents that found their way in. But now we are in the city and their mousing skills are not needed in that way.

But now we are left with them doing what they love to do-scratch stuff! Now we have several scratch posts in the home but they just cannot stay away from the furniture.

We have envisioned new furniture at some point in time but with these little shredding machines make us think twice about that. Too much cat scratch fever! So we thought about de-clawing but that just does not sit right with us. We love our cats and this is part of who they are. De-clawing seems very aggressive and potentially an issue for the animals for several reasons.
So we found this product after doing some research. There are called soft paws (there are other versions of this). They are little caps that you glue onto the claws that keep them from being shredding machines. We are in week one of the trial and so far so good.

The cats were a little bugged at first but this only lasted a few hours and now they seem pretty comfortable with them. They come in several colors and you can make your loved one very colorful.
So if you have a problem with your little loved one this may be an option that can work for you. Follow the directions and clip the nails and put the proper amount of adhesive on and they should last a long while.
