The one page forms that we used in the 80's.

Selling real estate in the early 80's was not as stressful as today.  Perhaps the lack of stress was due to a lack of knowledge.  We had no idea what pitfalls might be ahead of us.

Our one page form was certainly easier.  I have kept lots of my old files and that form was something!  I have even kept one of them for use today when a FSBO friend comes in and wants a form for selling his/her property. I just run off a copy and keep my original.

Now we have a 10 page form in Arkansas.  No telling how many pages are used in California.  We find that if we study CA we'll know what will be happening in our state in 5 or 10 years.  Our form is reportedly a good one, however, and is drawn up by a very good attorney.  Mostly it will successfully keep us out of trouble.

With the number of forms needed today I find it worth while to go to the office to make copies.  The heavy duty copier there will suck those pages through in a hurry.  In my home office I still have the "one-page-at-a-time" copier which works but slowly!

Barbara,

Nice post. Brings back fond memories. Wait, aren't we in the 'paper saving' era? Yeah, right. Thanks,   Fran

It is supposed to get easier they say. Blame the lawyers.
