The Active Rain Book Club

I recently heard about a book about real estate and thought I might want to read it. I searched it on the Active Rain search bar and found no reference to it. That got me thinking that maybe we should have an educational and instructional bookshelf here at Active Rain. I've searched the Groups function and found no group specifically about books, so I decided to start such a group.

Eventually I hope we establish an excellent library here at Active Rain with reviews of books to both instruct us and for reference when researching a topic.

I've been a bibliophile for years and support local book stores whenever possible. I'd like to extend this Group to include localism posts about local book stores. We all know about Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Borders, but where do you go in your hood when you just want to spend some quiet time around books, new or used?

Glenn: Now this is a great idea for a Group! I love to read and I like to support my local bookstore as well here inSouthampton...BookHampton is the name if the store and it is terrific..they were offering tea and coffee and a place to sit and read or chat for years, long before any one else was! Hopefully we will find many other readers out there too! Good luck with the new group!

Thanks, Paula I hope to see a blog soon about that book store and also about some gem you've read lately about the biz.

Glenn this is a very beneficial group and should uncover some good material. Attitude is the key and for a quick pick me up I suggest The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon.  This is a book that deserves more than one trip through. It's a quick read loaded with hidden nuggets to grab onto.  There is no better time than the current economy to indulge in the positive energy genre.  Makes a good xmas gift too.

Glen, thanks for creating this book club.  I love reading real estate and motivational books.  This seems like a great place to share info about them AND learn about some other books that I have not stumbled up on yet.  THANKS!
