Why did you buy a home in Steelwood Subdivision on the Alabama Gulf Coast?

I had the pleasure of taking a guided tour of beautiful Steelwood by one of its long-time residents.  We drove from one end of the property to the other and ended our journey with a delicious lunch at the Steelwood Clubhouse.  Over lunch I asked our guide a few simple questions, with the hopes at gaining a property owner's perspective into the heart of the Steelwood lifestyle.

Our conversation:

Agent: In your opinion, what are the biggest draws to investing in Steelwood real estate?

Resident: Steelwood is the most tranquil community in Baldwin County.  The quiet country setting, the celebration of nature and the beauty of the lake, provide an escape from my busy work life.  When the place where you live helps you find peace in life, I think that says a lot.  From a practical standpoint, I do business all over the county and our central location is ideal for me.

Agent: What specific aspects have you come to appreciate about daily life and the overall community of Steelwood, that you think a prospective buyer would like to know?

Resident: There is a strong sense of community at Steelwood and I have formed many close relationships over the years.  An entertaining calender of social events draws us together, like dinners at The Club, fishing trips on the lake, football parties, poker nights, Saturday rounds of golf, tennis lessons and Sunday worship.

Agent: If you were to move, what would you miss the most about life in Steelwood?

Resident: I would miss the close relationship I have with the community, watching the deer eat out of my front yard, the scenery, the sense of security the community provides.  I never lock my doors, even when we go on vacation, and I never worry about my child going on bike rides or walking to a friends house to play.  This is a very unique place to live and it would be very hard for me to duplicate this lifestyle anywhere else in Baldwin County.
