3rd Annual AARP Fundraiser Breakfast ~ September 15, 2007

The 3rd Annual AARP Fundraiser Breakfast will be held September 15th at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar on Hughes Road. It will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the menu will include pancakes, eggs, and sausage.
The way the fundraising events works is Applebee's will donate the restaurant and some personnel for the event and the Madison AARP chapter will only be charged for the cost of the food. The meals will be cooked by Applebee's employees, AARP members will help wash the dishes, and there are a number of special guests that will come in to help serve the customers.
Some of the guest servers that will be present to help support the event are:
- Mayor Sandy Kirkindall
- Sheriff Blake Dorning
- City Council members Jerry Jennings and Tommy Overcash
- Madison County Commissioner Faye Dyer
- State Sen. Tom Butler
- State Rep. Mac McCutcheon
- Businessman Noble Harber
The proceeds of the breakfast will be split among several charitable organizations. Tickets for the breakfast are $5. I think this will be a great event. I may even come out to support this cause as well as the chance to be served pancakes from Mayor Kirkindall!! :-D
