Everyone wants to be Montelongo
If you've watched any cable lately, you've heard of the Montelongo's of San Antonio. The show follows a company that flips homes for profit. People watch it or watch Flip that house, flip this house, the real estate pros, or go to a free seminar where they listen to someone tell them how easy it is to make money in short sales, pre-foreclosures, lease options, etc. Everyone wants to be Montelongo or Trademark properties. If you've felt it, believe talking to this bunch is different that talking to your ordinary browser of homes. Be prepared for the verbage they may use to show their savvy. Be prepared to defend your profession and sometimes, be prepared to walk away from a dilluted few. i am starting to hear the same phrases used in the seminars. That is the reason I went to a few "free" seminars and I'm contemplating buying an informercial cd software book set with "free" support to learn how to make a million in your first month. Zero down, free and clear, and other verbage. Add learning pseudo-real estate verbage to your arsenal. I personally like re-educating these clients to understand the local market and what it will handle. I also like it when they stop paying for the seminars and start appreciating and gladly paying their REALTOR.
