However on December 26 1941, Franklin Roosevelt signed into law that Thanksgiving would be moved to the Thursday of November, making it a National Holiday. This was an effort to boost the National economy at the time.
Thanksgiving Events for Saratoga Springs NY
Saratoga Springs Turkey Trot will be held on November 25 beginning at 8:30 am at Saratoga City Hall. This is the annual 5k run to benefit the Christopher Daily Foundation. This foundation was created to remember a spirited 8 year old child who attended Dorthy Nolan Elementary School. Christopher suddenly died in the hospital the day after Thanksgiving. This event is truly a reminder we have a lot to be thankful for.
Traditional Thanksgiving dinner hosted by the Wishing Well in Saratoga Springs will take place on November 25. Don't miss out on this unique experience beginning at noon. They will have a wide variety of traditional Thanksgiving dishes.
The 5th Annual Spirit of Thanksgiving hosted by the Twin Bridges Rotary will take place at Salty's Pub & Bistro in Clifton Park NY. Share the holiday with others that would be otherwise be spending it alone. This event will run from 11:30 to 3:00 pm.
