Paula is looking forward to the Christmas Season at Parkwood and wanted to share the Estate's schedules for anyone else like minded.
Winters' Evening Tea
With a different approach to the festive season this year, Parkwood is offering an evening experience at the mansion on Friday, December 3 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
This specialty tea will feature traditional Christmas fare of a non-alcoholic wassail; mince tarts and trifle, followed by seasonal interpretation of the first floor rooms.
Tickets are on sale Wednesday, November 3 and are $25.00 per person
Childrens Program: Ready for Christmas- The Life of a Servant
Saturdays & Sundays in December, our interpretive staff are showcasing the role the servant at Parkwood played in the holiday preparations. From cleaning the silver, to preparing the meals, to packing the "Christmas Cheer" hampers sent out by the McLaughlin Family, the servant was an integral part in ensuring that the household was ready for receiving guests and celebrating the festive season.
Your child will be enlisted to assist in the preparations as they are trained in the daily duties & expectations of a days gone by Parkwood staff member.
Registration is required, the program is suitable for children ages 6 through 12.
Specialty tour times are 1:30 & 3:00pm and the program lasts approx. 1.5 hours
$10.00 per child. Sorry no adults!!
