TweetDeck vs HootSuite (Social Media Tools You Should Use)

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Results 20344949

Today is a good day to work from home and stay home in Minnesota.  We are starting to get some good wet snow and the day before a Holiday can sometime means that people have other things on their mind besides Real Estate.

One of my things TO DO was to check out TweetDeck and HootSuite.  I wanted to start to use these as I hear it can save you some time on the Social Networks.  They are real easy to sign up for and use, so I wish I would have checked them out sooner.  Both are free.  HootSuite you can upgrade if you want to add more then 5 Social media sites and that is only $5.99 a month.

Both allow you to post to multiple social media websites at one time.  From what I have been told you don't want to double up too many of your posts.  However, there are times that sharing your status, links and videos to multiple Social Media sites make sense and these definitely save you time!  Also it helps you stay on your "forgotten" sites (the ones you don't use because you don't have time).

HootSuite also allows you to schedule posts to some of the social media sites.  So if you have a Tweet or a Facebook status update you want to post at a certain time this weekend, but won't be by a computer this is a good way to go.  Also to really be in touch and use Social Media correctly to build relationships and grow your business you want to Tweet at least 10-20 times a day and probably update Facebook 2-4 times a day; thus this is a must have to grow in that area!

I personally have been doing an average job on facebook and twitter lately, but I know these will really help me do the things I want to do to build relationships and grow my business via Social Media.

I like TweetDeck and how it has multiple dashboards to keep your Twitter followings, messages, and mentions easily organized.  I added all my social media to TweetDeck so I can use that for efficient status updates.  You can just pick the site(s) you want your status update to go to, its not an all or nothing thing.

I really like that Hootsuite allows me to schedule updates!  I plan play with it tonight and schedule some updates this weekend so it looks like I am there but I am likely spending time with family!

Social Media is just another way to grow your business. Its not the only way, but it is here to stay and will be an important way to grow your business moving forward and a low low cost.

Interesting info Chuck. I will have to check them out. I was thinking today that I've really dropped the ball on Twitter and I'm horrible at getting into LinkedIn. :) Maybe this would keep me on better track!
