TODAY IS A HOLIDAY - SO WHAT!

By
Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

Some people love to celebrate the holidays. If you LOVE to celebrate, have a GREAT time. But remember, not everyone can bear the thought of another holiday, no matter what kind of dinner is prepared or who is planning to be there! For some people, holidays are painful memories. If you know people like that, don't push them. Try your best not to try to convince them to do what makes you feel good, because you'll only end up exhausted and you probably won't win. Nobody can change any one else's behavior, only they can do that by themselves.

Major holidays are among the most stressful times of the year. Respect those who choose not to want to participate in a holiday celebration. It is entirely possible for a person who doesn't want to celebrate the holidays to have a great time being alone. Respect those who choose to do so.

LIVE YOUR LIFE WITHOUT STRESS. DON'T FORCE ANYONE TO DO SOMETHING THEY DON'T WANT TO DO!

Wonderful post Patricia and believe it or not but there are more suicides around Christmas than any other time of the year, bad memories of lost ones and more ...

Ernie,

Thank you for understanding. Isn't it funny how far we've come with diversity, yet when it comes to appreciating each others differences for reasons why they don't want to go along with the Christmas and/or any other Holiday Program, many people just don't get it!

We all need to do a better job and respect other people's wishes!

Thank you for your support!

Robert,

WOW! I have never seen this photo of you before! What a handsome dude you are! But now, on to a more serious issue, the topic at hand. Suicides, Depression, Bad Memories haunt many people and you're right, there are many bad memories associated with Christmas. Nothing could shatter a person's heart more than a suicide, especially at Christmas time. It's a terrible thing to live with and it's very hard for people who have had such traumas in their life to just get happy because the media and sales people says so.

In the echo of the Beatles, "When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be, and in my hour of darkness..... let it be, let it be."

PEACE BROTHER!

For some people holidays can be a very stressful time due to losses and personal issues. This is such wise advice.
