Why List Your House During The Holidays in The Dalles?

Real Estate Agent with John L Scott

Many people believe that houses don't sell during the holidays.   Do you believe this is true?  The last couple of years many people have told me the story that there house isn't selling because there aren't any buyer's out there.  What I have seen is the sales are continuing and the economy is getting better.

Last night while driving home from a fabulous dinner I saw cars lined up around the woodburn mall 2 hours before the stores were scheduled to open their doors.  What this tells me is people want to spend money.  Two years ago when you turned the television on all you heard were stories of people not spending money.  In today's economy people are out spending money and buying houses.

Listing your house during the holidays gets your house out there in front of the public moving into our area.  Last Saturday a woman came into my office telling me that her family was moving into the area and they were having a difficult time finding a rental.

Where is the housing that people can afford?  The housing is in the sales that are currently happening.   In the last 2 months there have been 22 sales.  The average median list price is $159,700 and the sold price is $163,500.    Day's on market are 53.   You are the judge of this information.

The current pending sales as of 11/26/2010 is 19 wow houses are really selling.  Don't wait until January, February or March.  Get your home listed today.  Houses are selling in The Dalles, Or.

great points April...I keep telling my clients this is a good time to list because although we have fewer buyers...we also have fewer homes on the market to compete with.
