We as Real Estate professional have to remember to.. be the reed. Better for us to bend than to break, and in the adjustment that the market that is making...we need to keep positive and move forward into what we will settle into once the market has leveled, and other agents have given up. We can blame all the parties that we want when it comes to why we, as a country, we have ended up where we are..truth is, it is our decision where we are going to be in the future. This market will pass, just like all the other difficult season's have passed... so, we need to ask ourselves.. where do we want to be? That is the questions we need to ask, and then, how do we get there. I don't see this as a disaster, I see it as opportunity.. a chance for me to better establish myself as a Realtor professional in my area , to meet those future clients through networking, and learn how to be the best that I can be to ALL of my clients, both past and present. I encourage all who may feel like giving up... DON'T DO IT!! Know that there are other's out there who feel worried that they can't do it anymore, just like you do...just persevere and know that ... this to shall pass, and when all the other's who aren't really into their career's have fallen by the wayside, you shall rise to the top, available for the new buyers and sellers who need the expert knowledge that only "seasoned" agents can bring. That is you and I...and that seasoning is happening right now for all of us... just hang in there, tmb

Great post! My only disagreement with you is that I don't feel like I am hanging in there. I feel very positive and I am indeed successful in my market - despite not working for five weeks because of my back surgery problems.

Timothy_ Love the picture as well as the advice. Anyone who is serious about real estate should view this as a correction. Real Estate is something that will not go away; for various reasons people will continue to sell and buy properties. Once the fog has cleared only those serious about the business will remain because the people who just got into the business for a quick buck will be history.
