Shop 'til you drop with one-stop shopping

Gasoline prices continue to increase, so if you'd rather park the car and shop 'til you drop, here are the San Diego County shopping centers where you can do just that!

  1. http://www.missionvalleycondos.infoCarlsbad Premium Outlets, 5620 Paseo del Norte, Carlsbad
    90 stores
  2. Cedros Design District, South Cedros Avenue, Solana Beach
More than 85 boutique stores line this section of Solana Beach. Find unique fashions, antiques, handcrafted furniture, and home accessories.
  3. Chula Vista Center, 555 Broadway, Chula Vista
95 stores, including the only Sears store in the South Bay. Also has JCPenney, Macy's, and a 10-screen theater complex.
  4. Fashion Valley, 7007 Friars Road, San Diego
With 205 stores, this is San Diego's largest mall, and perhaps the ritziest, too, with Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Neiman-Marcus, and Nordstrom. Also has a JCPenney, Tiffany & Co., Luis Vuitton, Gucci, Apple, and Microsoft. Although there is plenty of parking, http://www.missionvalleycondos.infoFashion Valley's location at the intersection of Highway 163 and Interstate 5 mean that traffic getting into and out of the mall often backs up onto the freeways. Try parking elsewhere and taking the bus or the San Diego Trolley to the Fashion Valley Transit Center.
  5. Grossmont Shopping Center, 5500 Grossmont Boulevard, La Mesa
94 stores, including Macy's, Target, a newly renovated Walmart, and a 10-screen theater complex.
  6. Las Ameicas Premium Outlets, 4211 Camino de la Plaza, San Diego
    125 stores
  7. Otay Ranch Town Center, 2015 Birch Road, Chula Vista
100 stores, including a 12-screen theater complex. This is San Diego County's newest mall, open only four years.
  8. http://www.missionvalleycondos.infoViejas Outlet Center, 5005 Wills Road, Alpine
53 stores, and if you get tired of shopping, you can do some gaming at the Viejas Casino or eat at one of their excellent buffet meals.
  9. Westfield Horton Plaza, 324 Horton Plaza, downtown San Diego
117 stores. This still ranks as a fun mall simply because it's the most unusual mall you'll ever get to. It's a multi-store open air mall with weird angles, bridges from to side and up and down, escalators, and elevators. Parking in the garage is $8 an hour, but stores will validate your purchases for three hours of parking. There is usually a holiday ice-skating rink at the main entrance on Broadway.
  10. http://www.missionvalleycondos.infoWestfield Mission Valley, 1640 Camino del Rio North, San Diego
112 stores. Popular with the younger crowd because of the 20-screen theater complex. Along with Target, there are two Macy's stores, one at each end of the mall. There is also Westfield Mission Valley West across the street, which includes one of the nation's top Borders Books & Music stores.
  11. http://www.missionvalleycondos.infoWestfield North County, 272 E. Via Rancho Parkway, Escondido
143 stores. This is San Diego County's largest indoor mall and includes JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Sears.
  12. Westfield Parkway, 415 Parkway Plaza, El Cajon
162 stores. Along with an 18-screen theater complex, there is a JCPenney, Macy's, Sears, and Walmart.
  13. Westfield Plaza Bonita, 3030 Plaza Bonita Road, National City
148 stores. Plaza Bonita was renovated and expanded in 2008 and has a 14-screen theater complex, JCPenney, Macy's, and Target.
  14. Westfield Plaza Camino Real, 2525 El Camino Real, Carlsbad
120 stores, including JCPenney, Macy's, and Sears.
  15. Westfield UTC, 4545 La Jolla Village Drive, La Jolla
133 stores, including Macy's, Nordstrom, and Sears. This mall has a year-round ice-skating rink.

Great of you to highlight the local one stop shopping centers in your area.  For me, one stop shopping has become sitting in front of the computer.  I hate the malls and shopping centers this time of year.
