In Lower Chichester there is some wrangling over the 2011 tax spike Commissioners adopted a 2011 preliminary budget totaling over $2 million, reflecting an increase of 1.2 mills over the 2010 budget. The proposed millage is 7.02, and a resident with a home assessed at $75,000 can expect to pay $526.50 in township real estate taxes (an increase of $90 over last year). The sewer fee is also expected to increase from $310 to $330 because of costs associated with sewer maintenance.
