With all due respect to Faye Dunnaway's over-the-top performance as Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest --"no more cloudy dishes!" I guess I have come late to the phenomenon known as the dishwasher gelpac (various brands). These concentrated pre-measured tablets require no unwrapping, dissolve completely and are mess-free. Most importantly - they work!
Interesting Michael. I have never tried them but I guess I need to! I LIKE ANYTHING MESS-FREE!
Devona - yes, even the capsule containing the gel self-destructs in the dishwasher. Good luck.
I think it was Walmart that started phasing in gelpacs several few years ago. I think Walmart was going to phase out liquid and powdered detergents completely, but since I buy my dishwasher detergents at Costco, I don't know if they have.
Huh - wonder why the stores were thinking of phasing out liquid/powder detergents --- am I missing some ecological concern? Thanks, for the comments Russel.
Michael Jacobs - It took me a long time to try dishwasher gelpac and now I'm sold. I haven't been convinced to the gelpac for Laundry Detergent yet.
I hope you're doing well.

Funny running into Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP way back here in time!
I have never used a gelpac. But, then I don't use my dishwasher. I prefer hand washing since it is only two of us and I wash as we use rather than storing dirty dishes until we have a full load.
My dishwasher (bought new to match the other appliances we got when we moved in) is instead used as additional storage space. I call it "the pantry". LOL
Sharon Tara - you never know who you might "encounter" in the comments when going through the ActiveRain archives, right?
