Two Vital Reasons Why You Want To Market Your Home During The Holidays
Your Home Will Have Less Competition During The Holidays
Holiday Decorations Make Your Home Feel More "Homey"
As Shakespeare might have said, "To market or not to market your home during the holidays during the holidays... that is the question."
You get two big advantages when you market your home in December.
Contrary to popular belief, December is not the slowest sales month of the year; The slowest month is August, when folks are on vacation, and government agencies have spent all of their budget for moving folks.
First, many of your competitors will take their home off the market in December so they don't have folks wandering through their homes while cookies are baking in the oven or presents are being wrapped.
That means you will have less competition from which prospective buyers may select.
Second, you WANT folks to smell fresh-baked cookies, and see your home all decorated for the holidays.
Garlands, red ribbon, a Christmas tree, and twinkling lights make it easy for folks to imagine living in your house as their new home.
Holiday decorations add charm to your home.
Some of my colleagues ask their sellers NOT to decorate their homes during the holidays because they think it's not politically correct to display decorations that some folks might view as religious.
Hogwash!
Also, the folks who are looking at homes in December are SERIOUS home buyers who HAVE TO move within 30-60 days.
I've had as many as 15 sales in December in years past... a home sold every other day.
So get those decorations out of the boxes, put up a tree, bake a ton of cookies, relax, and enjoy the holidays as folks "ooh" and "ah" over your beautifully decorated home.
