Snow Gun Scene on Loon mountain November 28- 2010

The Snow Guns are all going , the jump house is pumping, the lords are leaping...and the electric meter is spinning. It takes a lot of water and power to cover a mountain with snow. If you want to ski a month before Christmas the man made stuff is the way to go! Itching to ski SOON? We're ready for you!

This picture was shot from the Village of Loon mountain Condominiums, across the street from Loon Mountain Ski Resort in Lincoln New Hampshire. The white dust floating over the trees are signs of working Snow guns.

With a concentration of guns you can cover an acre of Ground in one hour...when you try to cover a hundred acres it takes a bit longer. I haven't been out yet, but with the four day weekend of Thanksgiving break I'll wait till some of the visitors are gone and there is a little more room to point the boards down-hill.

Steve, do you keep posting photos of where you live just to make us all jealous...it's working!  Maybe I need to rethink my market area...ski resorts or Hawaii???  Some guys have all the luck!  Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

What is going on in the world.  California has plenty of snow, as does Spain!

We always start off with a bang...then the dreaded December warm up. The only way to make sure you have snow for Christmas Vacation is to start making it in November and hope it stays.

Steve I would hate to pay that electricity bill, I bet they are praying for some of the real stuff so they don't have to make snow for long.

George...When the ticket prices go up each year, the public questions the cost...but they want good conditions and groomed slopes, amenities...etc. The best deal is to buy a pass early in the summer at the lowest price and have your tickets all set before it snows.

Come Christmas vacation time you guys should have a nice base and well groomed slopes for vacationers and locals alike to ensure their skiing experience is just perfect.

I wish I could ski!  I've only ever been once and I was horrible at it.  Do love the views though!  Amazes me how they make the snow.  I can't believe we have nothing on the ground here and it's December tomorrow.  I could have sworn we had snow in October last year!  I'm not complaining...80s in FL was very nice last week. Already looking for summer!  :)
