So, you've decided to buy a home. Bravo for you! Now, you have the task of deciding if an existing home or new construction is the best fit for you. Here's where I can help. I have an extensive background in new construction and am excited to share my knowledge with you. There are many advantages to buying both existing and new construction. Here, I'm highlighting the advantages of a new home:
1. New construction allows you to purchase what you envision. The floorplan, the color scheme, stone, brick, stairs, no stairs and so on. When you purchase an existing home, you are in fact purchasing the vision of someone else.
2. When you purchase a new home, there are no surprises. No leaky faucets to fix no surprise roof or plumbing repairs. New homes often come with warranties that covers the structure and workmanship.
3. New homes are more energy efficient than even a home built just 5 years ago. Energy efficiency means more green in your pocket.
4. Since your home is new, there's virtually no maintenance in the short term
5. New construction is built using the latest gadgets, current trends in floorplans and the latest technology. Retrofitting your home to be energy efficient is expensive. Some new homes even have the option of adding solar.
6. New construction allows you to shop around. There are numerous builders all offering different floorplans.
7. You get to decide the architectual design of your neighborhood
8. With so many builders out there (not to forget it's a buyers market) there's competition for your business. Which means, better prices and incredible incentives.
9. You may recoup more money when you sell. New homes have a longer life expectancy. Hence they have longer to increase in value.
The listed advantages are just a few benefits of buying a new home.
