Real Estate and Social Media - Love, Hate Relationship?
FaceBook, Twitter, FourSquare, YouTube...the list goes on and on. As a realtor, I know the importance of being on top of your social media presence and how many folks you can access on the internet super highway. But it takes time, patience and a sound strategy to make it most useful and efficient. Here are some of my tips.
LOVE FaceBook and Twitter...these are great tools to keep up to date with clients and friends. HATE the time it takes to add updates and posts. ANSWER: Schedule, Schedule, Schedule! Designate 15 minutes in the morning to Tweet or update your FaceBook profile.
LOVE the ability to add and share your location via FourSquare. HATE adding location from home! DON'T DO IT! ANSWER: Go ahead and post your location at your favorite cafe but keep home sweet home, home SAFE home.
LOVE adding my virtual tours to YouTube. HATE the slow upload time. ANSWER: Schedule long uploads during off peak hours. I do mine after 6pm.
There are many great social media tools that marry well with Real Estate. But as with all marriages...it takes time to get it just right.
