It seems not so long ago that I took the leap and started posting to Active Rain......
I have met wonderful people, generated business and learned so very much! It has been 6 years of worth it!

I learned a long time ago that if I was going to get fulfillment from working...it had to be fun....it isn't just about the money!
For me....it isn't fun anymore. Instead of anticipation I feel dread, instead of challenge I see only obstacles, clients are frustrated, depressed and angry. Even new home buyers...are stressed and distrustful of the system.

This year....after many starts, stops and fizzles ....I have decided it is time to move on from here, hang up my Realtor Hat and seek a new endeavor.
I may re-visit my 20 years of experience in the world of food....maybe volunteer some more or perhaps something I haven't even thought of!

I want to wish all of my AR friends success and positive vibrations...this has been a trip!
This forum has morphed into a family! We celebrate the sucesses and mourn the losses The loss of  Karen George, Laurie Manning and Carole Provenzale...deeply affected us all!
Thank You Active Rain for such a rewarding forum and Thank You friends for reading, commenting, critiquing.... and especially caring!

And those of you who want to stay in touch ...pop over to Facebook and say Hi!
One can't have too many "friends"

Joan...having just met you so to speak in the Rain, may I wish you great success in whatever you do decide.
Food is always a good avenue--'the way to a person's [man's] heart is through the stomach ' and all the other fun quotes surrounding food.  Your wonderful face will look so great on that Billboard announcing the New_______ coming soon to the _______area.   Or with all your experience writing, why not a Book about this 6 year Ride in the Rain.   However you intend to spend the next day, week, months & years YOU WILL SUCCEED.

All are in your future

Hi Joan,

Altough I haven't been very active lately, I'll miss you. You are one of my favorite AR people. I can understand what you are saying about real estate. I'm still working but limiting my business a bit. I'd like to work only with buyers. We had to upgrade our licenses in Illinois this year, since there will be no more sales people, only brokers and managing brokers. I debated whether or not I should put in the effort but decided to upgrade to managing broker and continue working on my own for a few more years.

I respect your decision and wish you the best of luck in any future endeavor.
