It's beginning to look alot like Christmas.  When I woke up this morning, we had 7" of snow on the ground and it's still coming down.  We will be finishing out the week in snow.  Being a recent transplant from Southern California, this is new and wonderous.  By Christmas, it may get old.  But, for now, I'm enjoying the thrill snow used to bring me when I was a little girl.  Apparently, I now live in a Christmas card.  I'm definitely not complaining about it!

What an awesome picture!

Just remember to slow down early and give yourself extra room when that snow turns to ice...and if the area of the street where the tracks are have turned to pure ice...move over so that you are straddling them as a little snow or choppy stuff is easier to slow down on than pure ice.

You'll love the snow. Grab a big black intertube (cushions the bumps) and find a nice hill to get out and enjoy. Makes you feel like a kid again! Better yet is that after winter you get to experience the glorious spring!

Thanks, Faina.  I'm OK as long as I don't have to drive in it and when I get used to having to shovel it.

Thanks for the tips, Mike.  I'm learning from my husband about the slow waaaaay down before you turn.  Watching all the cars slippin' and slidin' makes me nervous!

Well, Bandele.  Soak up some extra sun for me.  We're supposed to get a bit of sun peeking out of the clouds over the weekend.  But our high will be around 30.

Thanks, Silvia.  That's exactly how I felt.  Like I am living in a Christmas card.  It's my favorite time of year, so I'm not complaining.

My husband was taking the neighbor kids around on an inner tube hooked up to a long piece of rope behind his quad in the our neighborhood, Lee & Carol.  He had the parents' permission, of course, and our neighborhood is small with lots of cul de sacs and dead ends.  You can see the video I took of it here:

Definitely, Carra.  By the way, I'm SO jealous of your Semester at Sea.  I've always thought that would be fun.  It will definitely happen one of these days.  Just not right now.  :)
