CARMLS INCREASES PHOTO COUNT TO 20!!
We will increase the number of photos that can be uploaded per listing to 20 beginning on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010.  You may add additional pictures to existing active listings also.

*****************

This announcement was on our Multiple Listing Service today.

You know how much we on Activerain gripe about either no pictures or bad pictures or just two or three pictures!

Well, now we can have 20 pictures!!  That's a lot of pictures and can show so much of the house that you call tell almost everything about it from the photos!

ASSUMING......

Agents realize this and do a good job of putting the photos on.  That old Southern saying about, "This'll separate the men from the boys" will hold true when we see how many agents will put them online.

That's great! Our MLS isn't nearly there yet.

The latest NAR survey says that photos and details are the two most important factors for buyers. Funny, that those two items are limited by most MLS's. Why?

Well now, this development will be interesting.  We can now decide whether 20 bad pictures is better than 2 or 3 bad ones.  Hopefully, it will be like you say, separating the men from the boys, or the women from the girls:-)

So Barbara, what you are saying is that I will now be able to do the inspection from my office?  Way cool! :)

Barbara, this will certainly separate the men from the boys.... and I bet there won't be many men out there. We have only 16 photos allowed, bummer. Many don't use them all, or have lousy photos on there, including the old crooked fridge leaning tower of Pisa look to it, or the toilet seat up shots....

Barbara, My we are so progressive here in Arkansas. I think this is great news for reasons already stated here. Really great for CARMLS. We at 16 in the ARMLS.

Lottie, we've gone from six to now 20 within the past few years.  I'm happier.

Curt, I am one of the ones who want pictures.  Others, I suppose, want written details.  I always felt that one picture is worth 10,000 words.

Myrl, you understood my old saying, didn't you!

Charlie Buell, I'd do anything to make your job easier.  But you said you take how many photos??  With each inspection???

Andrea, I'm betting with you.  There will be very few "women or men."  Most will be boys and girls!  LOL

Charles Edwards, you already have 16?  We had only 15 so you're ahead of us!!

Wow, Barbara, we're allowed up to 100 in our MLS.  I try to load at least 20 per listing.

Yes, Barabara it will be a long time before there are THAT many pictures---and then there won't be any of the crawl space or attics :)  I typically take between 350 and 450 pictures.

Kay! 100 photos allowed!!  That's amazing.  Even I probably couldn't fill that many!  Definitely, good photos should sell the house!

Charles,  I also take a lot of pictures.  I remember long ago having to take notes!  With digital cameras, we take pictures, not notes!  I also remember running to Wal-Mart on Sunday to take advantage of their 1 hr. picture service when I had to buy prints.  Things do change!!
