It's a great day when.....

I staged a vacant home yesterday for a lovely lady who has been trying to sell her home since June. She had a previous stager come in and remove wallpaper, paint kitchen cabinets, paint living room and dining room( the most atrocious color I have ever seen) and replace 2 light fixtures...This very nice elderly lady got soaked for $6,000.00.....The home never did get staged with furniture and the stager has disappeared...

I received a phone call from the Realtor begging me to help her stage this property, she felt horrible because she was the person who recommended the first stager, and she wanted to make it up to her client. I agreed to help them and staged the vacant home( my favorite kind of staging)... Although the home still needs major updating( the home owner does not want to invest any more $$) staging will definitely help to sell it faster..

So I say it's a great day when.... your client calls and thanks you profpiously for helping her out, and tells you that she expects to sell quickly because of the fantastic job she feels that Images Staged with Flair has delivered her.....

I say that it is for those wonderful, positive comments we receive that makes our job that much more interesting and enjoyable....

I LOVE MY JOB...... YEAH!!! IT SOLD......!!!!!!

Anna, it sounds like you did a very fine job for this lady. Too bad you were not the FIRST stager this Realtor suggested. She would have a little $$$ to update with.

I wonder if the agent in question had ever actually seen any previous work by the original stager? I never recommend anyone I have not personally vetted.

Joan, you are so right, she would have more $$$ to update the home, but she is afraid of investing any more $$$.

Vickie I hope you are right!!

Davona, yes there are people out there that would take advantage of elderly people and ould be able to sleep at night.

Jon, yes the agent suggested the previous stager because the condo that this home owner purchased and has moved into was staged by this stager, and suppossedly she did a fantastic job!!!

Michelle, before and after pictures will foloow, I finished the home late at night and will take pictures this weekend in natural light, so keep an eye for the post, thanks...

Praful, some suggestions: master bedroom, see if the client has or knows someone that owns a blow up bed, with beautiful bedding and a headboard,one small side table, a lamp, a few accessories and voila' you have staged a master bedroom... Going to your local furniture stores they usually have a "AS IS" section, you would be amazed at what great bargains you can find, ususally they have very minor flaws that are not an issue when staging a vacant home. We have a furniture store in our area at the moment that you can purchase a brand new couch for as little as $200.00. Hope that helps, the picture below is of a bedroom that is staged with a blow up bed...

The Master Bedroom looks lovely. I am so glad you were able to help her out. I really don't like to hear how people get taken advantage of by a Home Stager... it's so sad that there are people out there like that. I too hope it sells quickly for this lady and the Realtor.
