Woohoo!: Out of My Comfort Zone

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

So, I'm in CAMP 4:4:3, again.  I was working on my lead generation today, and I did something that was tough for me to do.

Rather than just going out to get my 10 business cards, and calling people I was comfortable with calling, I called people I haven't talked to in literally 15 years.

I called up high school classmates, chatted, had a few laughs, and most of all, put myself at the top of their minds for real estate.  I was floored by the fact that they even remembered me, let alone that they would be so willing to tell me everything that happened in the last 15 years, down to when their kids' birthdays are!

It sealed the deal for me!  No more Secret Agent - if someone knows me, they're going to know what I do!

Congratulations - on stepping out of your comfort zone. The first time is always the hardest! Plus contacting people you already know - great choice!

That's great to hear, Angela. Don't forget to follow up the phone calls with a quick handwritten note. How about organizing a get-together (maybe a lunch or happy hour) for your classmates? And then make sure they all go into your 33 Touch for 2007!

Good for you.  The only way to succeed is to keep in touch and be the one there before they start acting on real estate transactions.  Nice post.

Calling previous acquaintances is a great idea.  I'll have to try that.

If you have any listings that may need a short sale negotiated, feel free to contact me.

Also, if you have any buyers interested in discounted short sale homes, I may have just what you are looking for.
