I am taking Jennifer Prestwich's challenge of doing 31 one things in 31 days.
What do you have to do? Do 1 thing per day that would further your business. This might be a blog post, Facebook note, tweet, text, phone call or email. It could be a newsletter, event, or postcard. In my opinion, you should be doing this many times a day, besides your normal business, if it were showing homes or doing mortgage applications. Keeping in front of people daily is marketing and branding. But in my opinion, don't spam yourself, do it naturally and genuinely.
So.. what have I done?
I killed some termites.... does that count? Seriously, then the house would be good to go and when doing the home inspection, they would find none.
Okay, I get it, I shouldn't quick my day job..., here was my day 1.
I have a Facebook Fan Page, The FHA Expert. I don't touch it daily as I should, but I do pay attention when others ask questions. Answering these and engaging others is important in my opinion. It's part of marketing and branding yourself. I posted Colleen Craig's post, who is a friend and associate member of Mortgage Myth Busters, to my fan page wall.
So as you can see, my fan page is business. I usually post my own blog posts, unless I come across something very good. Colleen wrote a simple post, but touched on an important topic. This helps gets my name out to other agents and consumers. I also answer any questions or engage with the person that comments.
Here is another one from that same day, Day 1 of this challenge.
Here is someone asking me a question on my FHA Expert fan page. Now, I replied on the 2nd, which could be Day 2, but I already have a good post for Day 2... stay tuned because I think it would be good for so many. I received a lot of good feedback on what I ended up doing.
Overall, I think this is a good challenge... but as I stated, you should be doing this already and not for the points. The toughest part will be during the holidays. Not so much my daily touches or my business blog posts, but blogging about this challenge and what I did. thanks ps.. I still want to know if we text a consumer, how do we prove this?
