CHRISTMAS PARADE!
"A Home Town Christmas"
Helena AL
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4TH, 2010 at 1:30 PM
Helena is getting in the holiday spirit and will officially kick off the season today with their 40th annual Christmas Parade! The parade starts at the old Winn Dixie parking lot, travels down Highway 261 and will end at the railroad tracks in Old Town Helena.
The temperature is expected to be in the low 60s and there should be lots of folks out to watch the parade. Old Town Helena is one of the favorite spots for viewing but it is always the most congested area and takes the longest to clear out. If you will be in a hurry to leave I suggest choosing another spot along the route.
Road closed to traffic! I forgot about the parade one year and made the mistake of taking the way home through Old Town Helena and happened along during the parade. If you are planning on traveling on Highway 261 through Helena keep in mind that the road will be blocked for the parade which will probably last until around 3 pm or possibly a little later.
