Texas : Montgomery County : A Dallas Cowboy Profile in Courage: A Special Teams Hero!

Stunning, isn't it?  Cowboy stadium in all of its glory, and the Cowboys?    Well, I dunno.  Who will "show up" tomorrow again the Indianapolis Colts.  Should be "some" game.

I mean, how inconsistent can they get?  Picked to not only play on the Super Bowl---but WIN the Super Bowl.  What happened?

So many expectations, yet so much disappointment.  Players let us down, coaches let us down.  But let me say this: The special teams coach, Joe DeCamillis, is an amazing man and an amazing coach.

Now, I do not pretend to be any kind of expert about football--but, let me say, I know people, and I know courage, excellence and an impregnable spirit when I see it.  He is quite a coach as demonstrated by the quality of the calls and successes he has had during this season.

Tom Landry is in a class all by himself, but DeCamillis is amazing also.

Last season----yikes.  It was May 2nd, 2009 at the Dallas Cowboy's practice facility.  There was a terrible storm, the skies turned black over Valley Ranch in Irving TX and the life of the Cowboy Special teams Coach and scouting aid Rich Behm changed significantly.  Decamillis suffered a broken neck and the scout, Behm became paralyzed from the waist down.  Many others barely escaped major injuries.

The practice facility kind of looked like a big white condom---but not as strong.  It was decimated as a result of a "microburst" during a terrible TX storm.  Why was it built that way?

It looked like a mammoth tent with support mechanisms that, when jarred out of place, became projectiles. Yet the covering, the shelter providing portion of the "building" was made like a "pop-up camper," or a Coleman Tent from Target.  The contrast between the "material" and the supports is a combination that does not take a "rocket scientist," "civil engineer," or even a Realtor to figure out the safety compromise being inside such a structure in violent Texas weather would be.

Ay-Yi-Yi---THINK!

So, GO COWBOYS!  Be safe, be strong, and be courageous.  Follow the lead of your fearless Special teams Coach Joe DeCamillis.  You know, I find myself continuing to watch the Cowboys this season to check in on Coach DeCamillis----to see how erect his head is sitting on his shoulders.  He coached through the pain.  He is one of my heroes!  Thanks Coach!
