Sabina's Choir - A Collector's Item Turns Family Heirloom

What adds to the magic of Christmas are family traditions. Traditions that are handed down through the generations. Traditions that are eight generations old, four generations or even just first generations old.

While having dinner with the neighbours last night, they proudly showed us a beautiful collection they have been acquiring over the years. A collection that even their children admire and look for the new pieces each year.

Beautiful hand crafted chior of angels  More of Sabin's handcrafted choir angels

The collection makes up 41 pieces plus the stage. Each piece is wooden and crafted in Germany, ranging in price from $18.00 to $25.00. You have to admit it is both unique and beautiful.

What are your family Christmas traditions that have been handed down through the generations? What new Christmas traditions are you creating?

Hi Al and Peggy, That is a wonderful collection. And you are so right. Family collections especially for the holidays are so important and become heirlooms as they past on the generations. My dad collected trains and they are now through 3 generations. Mom collected the Hummel porcelains. They are likewise now through 3 generations.

That is amazing William. Very nice that the younger generations cherish what the older generation collected. Very nice. Merry Christmas

I have a very unique manger seen that was made for my mother by a friend of ours.  It manages to be very modern and traditional at the same time.  It always has a place of honour in our home.
