The College Reporter
As the semester winds down I asked my intern what are her shopping plans for the holiday. She has informed me that she has tapped into her creative side this year and made a great present for her grandmother. For the past few months she has visited Sips N Strokes to paint pictures with friends. From these experiences she has created a personalized gift for her grandmother in the form of a painted canvas of "lollipop flowers."
I myself have seen the canvas and was amazed by the picture that she painted. Over and over my intern has claimed she has "absolutely no artistic talent" but I think this is a great idea. On her last visit to paint I encouraged her to take pictures of her creative process so it can be documented for a blog.
She explained that taking the classes are great because she can pick the picture to paint and register for class online at the Sips N Strokes website, she just has to arrive at the correct location at the right date and time to paint her picture. No supplies are necessary, they are all provided when you pay at the location. My intern also mentions that classes are very "college friendly" budget wise, with class costing $25 to $40, all supplies included. Another great feature are that instructors allow students to paint step by step and to pick and choose your own colors. Creativity is a must for this project!
Here are her show and tell pictures with a grand finale at the right. Orange-red flowers for her grandmother's livingroom.
So for those of you out there at a loss for a present during the holidays and creative energy to burn, why not indulge in your artistic side for a present for that special someone!
Happy Holidays from the College Reporter!
