My office challenge

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Boston North West

So instead of hearing constantly about how bad the market is around the office, I've decided to challenge my fellow agents to suspend their disbelief for one month. Their disbelief that:

-Home aren't selling

-There are no buyers

-There are no qualified leads

-There are no mortgage programs available

I am challenging them for 1 month to believe that:

-This is a great opportunity for them to excel in this market

-This is a great time to perfect their pricing skills

-They can learn so many new skills from blogging to online marketing that will keep them competitive

Better yet, fine them $20.00 for each time they say something negative out loud and donate the money to a charity.

I agree with you one hundred percent christina. Like my broker said, some real estate agents like to hear other real estate agents say that the market is down so that they wont feel too bad. Misery loves company I guess. Great post.

I say fine them and create a marketing pool with that money. :)

But on a serious note, I like that you're challenging them to be a little more optimistic. The fact of the mater is, it's a prime opportunity for those looking at this as a career to excel and capture a nice market share. Sure the pool of qualified buyers has narrowed down but that's why being pro-active and developing systems is important.

How many people are you REALLY contacting in a day?

You have an intelligent message about the market...how are you communicating it?

Excellent point! The proverbial glass is always half full or half empty..and we're complaining about a glass that's still about 90% full in the average market...

I'm doing just fine. 3 closings last month and a few more this month. It's your attitude, sorry, but my glass is always half full. You have to be passionate about what you do. If you are not working your butt off, don't complain. If you are doing real estate part time, get a regular job for a while until the market changes and it will be easier for you.  Those of us who work 24/7 for our customers are doing fine.  It's the, "I have real estate license" people who don't work full time and that don't have a generous client base that are crying. Sorry, I work 60 hours a week or more to survive in the current market...get a grip. It's not easy for any of us, but you ONLY GET WHAT YOU WORK FOR!!! IN THIS MARKET, NO ONE IS HANDING YOU ANYTHING...
