I'll admit it... I'm an ego driven Realtor. I like when it's all about me. I like to bask in the glory of incredibly satisified clients and I don't mean the "Thanks for your help." kind. I mean the wildly mad about me, can't wait to tell everyone about the coolest, best, most knowledgeable real estate agent they have ever met, or ever even heard about.
Heck... look at my logo... it even SCREAMS ego...

But... I have found that for it all to be about me... it has to be all about the clients first. If there is one thing I hear from buyers over and over again, its about the agent that didnt show them the homes they wanted to see. I gasp... "They didnt listen to you?" More likely though is they didnt ask the right questions... didnt take the time to understand the motivations and didnt hear beyond the I want a 3 bedroom 2 bath home under $150,000.
Being ego driven, I learned long ago that the more I listen to buyers and sellers, the more they will want to hear about... ME. And I have stories sure to keep them entertained. My home that had a sinkhole... the clients that eliminated their homes with a click of the fingers in the foyer and of course bragging on my incredible kids. My timing is honed on every story to elicit the biggest laugh or to punctuate an incredible pearl of wisdom that will see them through the tumultous transaction.
My huge ego loves when bumps pop up in the deal... I take the time to carefully point out the tragic potential implications, then put on my cape and become SUPER Realtor! I quickly snuff out those problems like the super hero I am. Often, its a phone call or two... finding more data, a specialist or chatting with the other side to find out what the REAL problem is. If I can fix the problem... I'm a hero... If I can't... I have saved them from a unsatisfactory situation and again... I'm a hero!
For this hero thing to work.. I have found these steps CRUCIAL...
1.) Listen
2.) Educate
3.) Act (as in action... not as in theatrical)
4.) Praise the clients on how wise they are. (Which they always are because they hired Super Realtor!)
Well... I'm off to find more clients to stroke my ego...
