Quaint Belmont, NC Draws Those Looking For a More Relaxed Lifestyle
A town of just under 10,000 people, Belmont, NC home is a pleasing little place. Its charm and gentle lifestyle are attracting city-dwellers. It also offers community events, notable educational and cultural facilities, and well looked after environs. Natural beauty is one of the big appeals to the town. Belmont is nestled between the South Fork River and the Catawba river west of Uptown Charlotte NC real estate.
The downtown Belmont NC area is quite appealing. There are a number shops and restaurants to investigate along the pedestrian-friendly streets. Each summer, there is music every Friday evening. Popular events include the Concert in the Park Series, the Senior Debutante Ball and the Belmont Fall Festival. The Memorial Tennis Festival is another exciting event in Belmont, NC. The downtown has been redeveloped in order to accentuate its grand historical features. Efforts have also been made to incorporate brick sidewalks and street lamps as the downtown continues to be updated. Some other types of recreation and leisure activities available to the community are dance and yoga classes. Children can also participate in youth sports.
Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate what Belmont has to offer. Just southwest of town is the 450-acre Daniel Stow Botanical Garden. The garden now has an orchid conservatory which is sure to be a hit. On the east bank of the Catawba River, just across the river from Belmont NC home, is the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The non-profit center has several activities for water lovers. One can kayak, whitewater raft, canoe or kayak.
Families wishing to move to the area can take their pick of housing options. There are new developments including one at Montcross which is a mixed-use community. It is also a master-planned community. Other choices are historic homes and luxury townhomes.
