Miracle product or Placebo effect?

As a Marine, my physical fitness routine in the Corps is very arduous.  3-5 mile runs, pull-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, the list goes on.  As a Realtor®, my work schedule is sometimes very arduous.  Skipping lunch, working late, midnight snacks, all the ingredients to an unhealthy lifestyle.  Fitness and health is very important to me, however, usually sits on the back burner due to lack of time and energy.  Starbucks has been my counter to that thus far.  Recently I was introduced to a product called the Vi-Pak by a client.  It boasted to rejuvenate, vitalize and energize my body.  At first I was skeptical but always willing to give something a try.  Plus, they bought a home from me and promised me some referrals so I had to at least try their product.  I ordered the Vi-Pak but decided to do a little research while I waited for it to arrive.

Michael D. Seidman, M.D. created the Vi-Pak.  Dr. Seidman not only has an impressive resume, but he was also voted among the top 1% of all surgeons in America by his peers, and has been awarded a US patent on a supplement that positively affects age-related hearing loss and has several patents pending on aging, mitochondrial function, and Alzheimer's disease.  He also serves as a consultant for many professional athletes, and is an advisor for several teams in the NHL, NFL MLB, and NBA.

The Vi-Pak is backed by 25 years of research and 20 years of funding by the National Institute of Health.  The ViSalus Sciences website states the Vi-Pak:

  • Naturally helps increase your bodies production of energy, endurance and performance *
  • Minimizes stress and tension as you know you are getting good nutrition *
  • Supports healthy range of motion and may help reduce joint pain *
  • Enhances moods and emotional balance *
  • Supports healthy blood fat and blood sugar levels *
  • Promotes focus and may reduce hyperactivity symptoms *
  • Promotes weight loss and may help reduce cravings *
  • May assist in feelings of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and menopausal-like symptoms *
  • Support speedy recovery times from workouts or injuries *
  • Enhances overall immune system function *

That's a long list of benefits for just one product.  However, when I received the Vi-Pak, I noticed that it wasn't just one miracle pill in one jar.  It's actually four different formulas that work in unison to create the benefits above.  The formulas are as follows:  Anti-aging and energy formula, antioxidants, multi-mineral & vitamins and omega vitals.

So far, since I've been taking the Vi-Pak, I really do feel like I have a little more pep in my step.  I do notice that if I go to Starbucks and get my usual Quad-Venti, extra caramel, Caramel Macchiato, and take my Vi-Pak, I get a bad case of the jitters.  So lately, I still go to Starbucks but order a Tall (that's their smallest) Decaf, Caramel Macchiato (no extra caramel).  If I don't go to Starbucks, I still am able to function through the day without hitting a wall and needing a soda, latte, or Redbull to pick me back up.

I've referred my mother-in-law as well as my uncle who both suffer from high blood pressure, to try the Vi-Pak and see what it does for them.  My mother-in-law feels more energized and her blood pressure has actually dropped a few points without the help of her high-blood pressure medication.  My uncle says that he's actually sleeping better because of the Vi-Pak...It also encouraged him to turn a new leaf and start working out again.

My clients definitely came through with this one.  I helped them get into their first home and they've helped me maintain the Marine Corps' strict regimen for diet and exercise and help me work towards a healthier lifestyle.

Sounds interesting Chris. I have a hard time with my energy levels since I work 10-14 hour days on a regular basis, forget when to eat because I am busy... Sometimes when I am pulling my 12 night shifts at the hospital to keep my insurance up... I will be up for 24-30 hours before I sleep and eat all kinds of crazy hours. Who knows when to eat when you are up that long! Thanks for the info!
