Now… what to do with the wife and kids while you golf?
To teach the little ones some golfing fun, come on over to Boondocks Grill & Drafthouse & Miniature Golf, located at 27205 U.S. Highway 1 (Mile Marker 27.5). Boondocks is the only miniature golf course in the Florida Keys! It is a lot of fun for the whole family. I have reserved it for birthday parties, visiting relatives, social groups and special events. Great snacks and full liquor bar are available for us bigger kids! It is a perfect pastime for cooler winter nights or after the holiday dinners when the kids are restless and the adults want to relax.
Fido needs a vacation too… and the Blue Hole is very dog friendly! Bring your dogs to the Blue Hole, located on Key Deer Boulevard (Off U.S. 1, Mile Marker 30).This small, freshwater pond is not blue, so do not be surprised. Home to alligators, turtles and numerous fish that are easily and safely viewed from a wooden observation deck, the Blue Hole is a nice place to take children, to show them the wonders of the Florida Keys wildlife. Leashed dogs are allowed on the trail surrounding the pond – he will get some exercise and so will you!
