Backward Progress…Not an Oxymoron, Moron!

Are you generating enough leads to support your business?  If you are not closing the number of transactions you need to stay afloat, then you are most certainly NOT.  It may be time to take a step (or maybe a few leaps and a jump) backwards in order to EVER move forward as a business.

If I am speaking to you, don’t cry in your chardonnay.  If you think your lead generation efforts are on track, GREAT.  But even if you deem yourself a lead generation superstar, more leads are still the merrier, right?

So what do you do to grow and generate more leads?  First, step back and measure your lead generation efforts.  Take a look at the time and resources dedicated to a lead generation campaign.  Then, measure the effectiveness of the campaign.  Did it generate leads?  How many?  How much did each of them “cost” you?

If you determined that your lead generation campaigns were ineffective then it is time to go a different direction.   It could mean scrapping everything you are doing and starting over.  Yes, I said it.

But, don’t let a do-over scare you.  A do-over is not a failure.  Instead, a do-over is an opportunity to right a wrong direction.

C.S. Lewis said it best…. “We all want progress, but if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.”

In business it is key to know when to maintain a direction and push forward or when to cut your losses.   To minimize loss of time or resources and keep your business not just afloat but able to move forward, you sometimes have to stop, re-assess, and implement a new plan of lead generation attack.
