I think everyone on AR already knows how great Lenn Harley is, but today, I was personally touched by her knowledge, insight and warmth.
I wrote a comment/question on someone else's post, and from there Lenn gave me a call - both to help answer my question and to give me SUPER advice on my website and how to make a few tweaks on AR to better optimize my SEO. Her insights were amazing. While my site has a lot of good things going on, there are definitely a few things inhibiting it, and most are easy to solve. Love it when that happens. I've made a few changes and have plans for a lot more (that I will need to space out between now & end of the year...I have to get back to my estimates tonight.
So, with that, here's what I've done today:
- Edited my website home page, including my title, metatags (I had way too many)
- On AR blog page, added 8 links to my website (interior pages) and optimized language for key words
- On AR profile page deleted a few links going to other websites and optimized key words on the links back to mine
- Realized I still have canonical problem w/ my website w/ a combo of www. pages and non-www pages and need to find the code to redirect (currently it's as if I have 2 websites competing w/ each other. I need to fix...and, if someone knows how, let me know.
- Am armed with many more adaptations I plan to do on a) my website, b) my wordpress blog and c) AR. Can't wait until I have some more time at the end of the year.
In addition,
- Had a great networking mtg this am w/ someone who buys distressed houses, rents and renovates them and signed him up for AR. Pointed him in the right direction to learn some SEO
- Wrote a wordpress post w/ embedded google map and added a few embedded maps to previous posts. Still need to fix this blog as I don't think it's currently being indexed by google, but that will need to wait for another day.
