On day seven of 31 Days of December Challenge I decided to learn little more about photography and more specifically lighting. I went to training presented by Kelby Training and more specifically Joe McNally. I cant wait to apply what I learned into taking real estate photography which is completely different from portrait photos.
Andrzej since photos appeal to the public getting training as to how to do it right is a good step.
So did you find that what you learned easily translated over to real estate? Both Kelby and McNally are recognized names, I'd imagine you probably picked up some great tips.
Iran, the first thing I learned is that every situation is different and even the best pro's use trial and error method. If one thing doesnt work try something new. Until this training I pretty much set my flashes in TTL mode and let computers behind the scen do all the work and accepted results base on moving location of flashes. I learned to put all lights on its individual channel and control one light at the time until that specific flash is perfectly set and then move on to the next one. Next I learned about high speed sync which I would like to play with it next time I'm taking pictures of a interior.
Cool, sounded like you did pick up some good tips. I use all my strobes in manual mode and I will second the trial and error part, as well as the "get one right and then add to it" part.
