Today I went to invite all friends to a client’s Facebook page as a page suggestion and found out that the functionality doesn’t work anymore. Bummer…. It seems that Facebook has made yet another change to quash a functionality that was once useful to those of us that just do not have the time to play ‘click-the-box’ hours on end for a simple page suggestion.
Well, like anything else on the internet… where there is a will… there is a way!
After 4 days of being sick and then today trying to play catch-up with client accounts, this was not a welcome surprise. So, like any good geek gone mad… here I am at 5am in the morning with a solution to the problem.
The original solution was to wait until all of your friends had loaded onto the invitation page and then paste the following into your browser:
javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}
Well… that no longer works.
The new way is a little more time consuming, takes a bit of patience, but is definitely substantially faster than clicking through 4,900 friends.
Even if you only have 1,000 friends… I am sure you feel my pain on that one.
I would also really appreciate any feedback/input as to suggestions or opinions about TruFollow.com... if you have a second to come back here and post a comment.
Thanks so much and have a great day!
