Patriot Day - September 11
Flags at Half-Staff
In 2003, President Bush proclaimed September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day." President Bush called upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. He also called upon the Governors and other officials of all units of government to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day. In addition, he asked all Americans to display the flag at half-staff from their homes on September 11 and to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. to honor the innocent victims who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
9/11 - A Day We Remember
Six years ago on September 11, an unprovoked and brutal terrorist attack was carried out against the United States. Nearly three thousand innocent people lost their lives, including hundreds of heroic police, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians attempting to aid those trapped in burning buildings.
Please take a moment to join us for a brief ceremony on September 11, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. at the Justice Center Flagpole in remembering that day, those that lost their lives, and the heroes that gave selflessly of themselves to save others.
Never forget.
