Question - Agents Open House Etiquette –should I have said something ….

Every now and then I attend Agents Open House, essentially to find out details of the property for sale and get product knowledge of the Condo building or neighbourhood.

Yesterday I attended one of them.  I had attended a similar one before which involved light lunch and socializing. What I did yesterday was walk-in (socializing was going on.. ) looked at the property asked the listing agent a question about one of the rooms  .....  an agent known for her loud-mouthed opinions, answered, while the listing agent could hardly get a word in. Anyway, I did get my answer. Then, the listing agent said, have something to eat. So I picked-up a couple of slices of the finger food and was on my way out ..... when the loud-mouthed agent blurted-out  ..... anti-social ..etc.

At the end of the day, I was thinking to myself .... Should I have stayed and socialized and got caught up on all the latest gossip? Or should I have said something like ...... have a suggestion for your New Year's resolution ...'Stop criticizing other people'. Or did I do the right thing in ignoring her.

Good manners would prevent you from saying something tacky to the loud-mouth agent... best not to even notice. Your attending that event had nothing to do with her. Check out as many open houses as you have time for and then match them up with your buyer database. That's what it's all about. Good luck.
