The December Challenges . . . Keeping the Christmas Spirit and Working to Maintain The Business

A not uncommon scene at this time of year is a creche. This one is on the green in Naugatuck CT. For Christians around the world it is the representation of the birth of Christ in a stable almost 2011 years ago.

I can recall as a kid seeing a similar nativity set up on the Waterbury CT green, only then there was no barrier between the manger and people coming to pause and reflect. Signs of the times as now vandals think nothing of damaging the figurines and even stealing the representation of Christ. So sad.

As noted in other posts, the baby was not called baby X, and his birthday was not noted as X day. We celebrate Christmas and the birth of Christ.

31 Days of Christmas Challenge

Day 8: Had a Closing that didn't need much attention as most of the work was done. Got a new buyer inquiry through the web site that needed some attention

Day 9:  Met with a Broker/Owner from the Southington CT area that I feel will have a place in my business in 2011. Prepared some farming cards for the complex where my listing just closed

Just wondered if you do regular postcard mailings since you mentioned farming cards. I'm going to start mailouts again as part of my business plan. Then follow up with phone calls to my database.

St. Mary's Church in Franklin always has the nativity scene....on occasion, baby Jesus was missing, but always returned....

Carla, I don't do them with all my listings, but when there are certain areas that carry higher appeal than others then it send them out.

Hi William, thanks for the stop, it's been hectic keeping up with the Challenges, and I do believe I'll take a respite after the Holidays Thanks

Juli, this town had a major battle a few short years ago as a group wanted the creche removed as it violated their constitutional rights. There was a law suit and obviously in a town of app 40,000 where 99+% are Christians, it was thrown out.

Barbara, it's sad that there could be so little respect for the symbol that anything could happen.
