Victorian Holiday party The Redondo Beach Historical Society will open up the Morrell House for the festive celebration - All toys collected will benefit the Cheers for Children charity. Read more
Beach Cities Toy Drive. New unwrapped toys may be delivered to the Manhattan Beach fire stations. The wrapping party for the Toy Drive is Saturday, Dec. 18. Read more
Cheer for Children, a Redondo Beach-based, all-volunteer group, brings holiday cheer to acutely ill and hospitalized children by providing them with visitors and entertainers through the holidays. Read more.
The Hermosa Beach Kiwanis Club runs a charity Christmas tree lot at the Lot hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Read more.
His House, a nondenominational Christian fellowship. This year more than ever, their Adopt-an-Angel program is looking for support. Available for schools, churches or corporations that would like to particpate, they will provide an ornament with a child's name and age. The gift purchased on behalf of the child will be picked up and delivered to the child. Read more.
South Bay Senior Services is looking for donations of gift certificates from Target, grocery stores, Macy’s and monetary donations to help fill baskets that will be delivered to frail, low-income and/or homebound senior clients in the South Bay. Read more.
The Volunteer Center refers individuals interested in volunteering their time to nonprofit agencies. The center works with about 650 agencies throughout the Southland. The Center will match individuals or corporations with families in need of support during the holiday season. Donors may give food, gift cards, toys and meals. Read More.
Pediatric Therapy Network, a nonprofit research, education and treatment center for children with disabilities, is in need of disposable diapers, arts and crafts supplies, juice and snacks, and office supplies. Read more.
Walk with Sally works with children who have lost a family member to cancer. The organization will be accepting new, unwrapped toys at the North Manhattan Beach Open House. Read More.
The 1736 Family Crisis Center, at its new location at 21707 Hawthorne Blvd., Suite 300, Torrance, CA 90503, operates four shelters for battered women and their children, and an emergency adolescent shelter for South Bay residents throughout the year. Read more.
Local couple Johnathan and Melissa Gupta have started their annual blanket drive benefiting the dog sanctuary Villalobos Rescue Center, which is featured on Animal Planet’s popular television series “Pit Bulls and Parolees.” The Guptas are asking the South Bay community to please take a minute to go through your closets and storage to see if you have old blankets and towels that you want to donate to the dogs at Villalobos.
