I believe Wikileaks to be of utmost importance. Sadly, Mainstream Media has disseminated a lot of untruths in their extraordinary attempts to crucify and silence the movement.
Human Rights activists the world over, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights are concerned about Washington's reaction to the leaks.
Although I am well aware that many of you may be against wikileaks due to the material disseminated by the Mainstream Media, I caution you to dig in and find out for yourself what the truth is, instead of accepting the views presented by a system struggling to keep grip on its power. A system that employs destruction, manipulation, deceit and death of millions for the benefit of the few.
Wikileaks is offering a voice to the voiceless...
I believe in the freedom of information act. I believe in our right to obtain MOST material. However, that being said, when documents are released via wikileaks that threaten the lives of soldiers in the field I think that's wrong. And the release of classified military documents did just that. However deep I did, my opinion on that can not and will not change. There are legal ways to get information. Documents are classified for good reason. They can and will be released for historic value at some later date when they no longer endanger the lives of our men and women in uniform.
Good Afternoon Mirela
Thanks for the post and WikiLeaks Movie. Have a great day.
Tammy: This is exactly why I am posting information about WikiLeaks and that is exactly why I am urging each one of you to delve into it, in order to draw a conclusion, instead of accepting the propaganda being presented by our Major Media, which has become a mere PR arm of the interests in power.
To address your concern, please note:
Todd Gitlin writes an entire anti-WikiLeaks column that is based on an absolute factual falsehood. Anyone listening to most media accounts would believe that WikiLeaks has indiscriminately published all 250,000 of the diplomatic cables it possesses, and Gitlin -- in the course of denouncing Julian Assange -- bolsters this falsehood: "Wikileaks’s huge data dump, including the names of agents and recent diplomatic cables, is indiscriminate" and Assange is "fighting for a world of total transparency." The reality is the exact opposite -- literally -- of what Gitlin told TNR readers. WikiLeaks has posted to its website only 960 of the 251,297 diplomatic cables it has. Almost every one of these cables was first published by one of its newspaper partners which are disclosing them (The Guardian, the NYT, El Pais, Le Monde, Der Speigel, etc.). Moreover, the cables posted by WikiLeaks were not only first published by these newspapers, but contain the redactions applied by those papers to protect innocent people and otherwise minimize harm.

If you are getting your information only from the corporate media, you really have to rethink this. Think of what we get on television: we get the small circle of pundits who know so little about so much; explaining the world to us and getting it so wrong! ~Amy Goodman
