How do you decorate your yard for Christmas? - Part 2

By
Home Inspector with B4 U Close Home Inspections&Radon Testing (www.b4uclose.com)

Here's the next update in Erby - The Central Kentucky Home Inspector's yard decoration saga.  It's a bit behind schedule due to the creator's major surgery, but she's progressing well.

The original:

Halloween in Central Kentucky wasn't quite so scary this year!

Part 1

How do you decorate your yard for Christmas? - Part 1

And now, part 2

At this stage, I just get to set and watch and mount them in the yard.  (How lucky can I be?)

Still to come:

Owl

Piglet

Eyore

Kanga & Roo

Pictures will follow as they're finished.

I hope you enjoy it as much as the neighborhood kids do with their oohing and aahing!

I think the current owners are a little angry about the thorough inspection you did. They didn't have one done and it cost them $18K.  I, my loan officer and my agent think a home inspection is well worth what I paid.

Nathan, Morehead, KY Inspection  (20101012B)

Thank You for the outstanding job you did on the inspection.  We bought and sold 9 houses and this was the only inspection that was ever done properly.  It was helpful and we will use it to do the repairs with a system, instead of the guess work we usually do.  Thanks again

We use white lights, garland around the columns at our entry door and wreaths in each window AND THEN we put up the 8ft blow up snowman ;)

Very fun! The only problem: there was no snow on the ground in that picture! I'll share some of mine if you need ;)

When I was a kid (40 yrs. ago!) one of the local families had similar Christmas decorations and some of them were motorized.  I used to love to watch Snoopy and Charlie Brown run around Snoopy's doghouse.

I keep it simple at my house.  Wreaths on the windows, candles on the sills, Christmas tree on the porch with candles and soft lights.

Well Cynthia, I'm not very creative.  I just decorate as directed.  All white and a blow up doll just doesn't sound like Christmas.  Where's the color?

Jason, they're standing in all the snow I need.  Unfortunately, there'll be snow all around them when tomorrow evening comes.  You keep your snow.  I don't need it and I sure DON'T want it.  I get enough of my own.

Won't be no motors here Chris.  Too technical for me.  I'm not allowed simple.  If I was, it'd be a tree next to the fireplace with colored lights.  Good enough for me.  Check out the Halloween link and you'll see Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin Patch.

Thank y'all for stopping by and reading!

I love our snowmen, he is white but he really stands out!!  I would fill the yard with them but I might get kicked out of our community.  The funny thing is one windy night our doorbell rings and I go towards the front door and thru the glass front of the door I see our blow up snowman and I thought ummmm he isn't real he can't be ringing the doorbell (I know a blonde moment), I open the door and it was our neighbor returning our snowman who had in the wind blown over to his house :)

Yeah, Cynthia, it kind of sucks when the neighbors get to decide how you can decorate your yard.  That scare is what happens when you have all that glass in the front door instead of just a peephole.  I can just see the look on your face while you were thinking that.  A bit startling!

OK Jason, now I'm really PO'd at YOU!  You just couldn't shut up about the snow, could you.

Look at what you've brought upon poor Pooh & Tigger too!

You should be ashamed of yourself.  Hang your head and go stand in the corner, RIGHT NOW!

I expect you to come and remove the snow, not only from Pooh & Tigger too, but also my driveway.

Pay it forward, bub, just like you did in this blog of yours:

I’m beyond the yard decorating stage. In fact, I seem to have missed it altogether in my life. I’d rather drive around and admire at the results of all the hard work of people like you! My gas bill might be a little higher, but I'm pretty sure my electricity bill is much lower. J

Some do, some watch, Russel.  Just depends on what it is where you fall in talent for that particular thing!

She's the creative talent.  I'm just the labor force.

Erby, I owe you and about 45 million other Americans an apology for the snow. I was just trying to be generous, but I guess it got out of hand. ;)
