Foreclosures in Poinciana Florida Illustrated

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Tutas Towne Realty, Inc and Garden Views Realty, LLC BK607690

Hi folks. Here's a map showing the current foreclosures in Poinciana Florida as of December 12, 2010. The red dots are properties being foreclosed on. They do not include properties that have already been foreclosed on. Need I say more?

Poinciana Florida Foreclosures

Since January 2007 there have been 4646 residential sales in Poinciana according to the MLS. Of these 2540 were REOs. That's a liitle over 55%.

There are roughly 21,000 homes in this area. So 12% of the homes in Poinciana have been sold as foreclosures through the MLS in the last 3 years. This of course doesn't count anything that was bought at auction and it doesn't count homes that haven't sold.

I got the idea for this post from www.BoingBoing.net

1. Punch any US address into Google Maps.
2. Your options are Earth, Satellite, Map, Traffic and . . . More. (Select "More")
3. The drop down menu gives you a check box option for "Real Estate."
4. The left column will give you several options (You may have to select "Show Options")
5. Check the box marked "Foreclosure."

Are you facing foreclosure in Florida?

Do NOT be foreclosed on! Avoid foreclosure. Short Sales DO close.

What a sobering post...with that much saturation it will take years (if ever) for Poinciana and the surrounding communities to recover, not to mention the families/lives devastated by losing their homes.

I agree with Anita, what a wake up call. So, if I am to understand your post the homes being shown are in pre-foreclosure mode? It would be interesting to see how many are already foreclosed on.

BB...

In November, we had over 300 foreclosure properties advertised ... a new record. There are currently 265 that are going to the steps. We are a LONG way from recovery!

BB - It seems like your area has been hit really hard. In the North Florida the communities that were built during the housing boom have been hit the hardest with foreclosures.

Bryant, those statistics are pretty amazing.  There are some similarities in Saint Lucie County, but nothing like this in Martin County.  We never had the building craze (or only minimal new developments) of the early 2000's.

BB, What a sobering picture that makes your point quite graphically...like a plague!

The definition of a plague is a term applied to a disease that spreads easily and, without treatment, can be fatal. Sounds a lot lot like foreclosure in Poinciana.

Bryant,

It looks like an eye test.

Are you mediablinded?

Do you see depression or opportunity?

Look carefully!

What a difference actually "seeing" the  numbers makes.  Send this to the powers that be in Washington. Maybe it will wake them up to the true mess we're in. Thanks for the eye opener.

It's hard to believe.

Each one of those dots may represent families losing their homes.

Poor Poinciana. It definitely is not fairing well in this economic crisis. That being said, it is so important to contact a qualified professional like you when considering buying and selling in this turbulent market.

Have been told one out of four sales in the nation are FSSR infected. (Foreclosure, short sale, repossession) But lucky to live in Maine where we are 46th for FSSR. One percent of our sales not hard to take but your area is a horse or house of a different color.
