Missouri Tigers and Iowa Hawkeyes coming to Tempe

The 2010 Insight Bowl will feature the Missouri Tigers ( 10-2 ) against the Iowa Hawkeyes ( 7-5 ) on December 28th at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe. The Insight Bowl will be the first time these two teams have met since 1910.

Hawkeye fans and Tiger fans alike might want to check out the famed Mill Avenue District in Tempe or find some serious fun. If you will be visiting Tempe, the maps below will help in finding a hotel or with finding a fun place to grab a beer, a cup of coffee or more.

Kickoff for the Insight Bowl is 8:00 PM MST on ESPN. More information about the game can be found on the Insight Bowl web site, by following the Insight Bowl on Twitter, and by checking out their Facebook page

The Iowa Hawkeyes' fans will have the East side of the stadium and the South end zone. Sections 23-41 (lower level) and 236-247 (upper level)

The Missouri Tigers will be seated on the West side of Sun Devil Stadium and in the North end zone. Sections 3-20 (lower level) and 201-212 (upper level)

By sticking around in Tempe just a couple of days after the big game, football fans can enjoy the annual Fiesta Bowl Block Party.

The Tempe Fiesta Bowl Block Party comes to the Mill Avenue District each year on New Year’s Eve. Approximately 100,000 people from near and far attend this annual  bash to ring in the New Year at one of the west’s biggest and best parties.

Live music, dancing, beer gardens and more can be found the entire night. At midnight, there will be confetti blast along Mill Avenue along with a huge fireworks display.

The Fiesta Bowl Block Party will feature two main stages hosting some great local and national entertainment with 30 bands and entertainers on multiple stages throughout the downtown.

The Fiesta Bowl Block Party has been named by USA Today as one of the top ten places in America to ring in the new year.

Transportation and parking for the Tempe block party and the Insight Bowl is easy. Just hop on the light rail and head to Mill Avenue! You can use one of the FREE park and ride lots and then purchase an all day pass to ride the light rail for just $3.50.
